Komodo National Park Adventure
A three day private liveaboard cruise, 1 to 23 persons
A very exotic, tropical experience is a three day liveaboard cruise on a buginese boat. During your cruise you sleep and eat on the boat while the boat stops at one of the best attractions the park has to offer: You are going to visit Komodo, Padar Island and Rinca, Pink Beach, Kalong and the flying foxes, Manta Point and at least the coral reefs of Bidadari and Kanawa.
Itinerary
Day 1 Labuan Bajo – Kelor – Kalong Island (Rinca)
In the morning at 7:15 we pick you up at your hotel and we go straight to the harbour in the center of Labuan Bajo. We give you the latest information about Rinca and Komodo and hand over the snorkeling masks and fins to you. After boarding, the local traditional buginese wooden boat lifts its anchor and we head towards Rinca. We first snorkel at Bidadari Island. After apprx. one hour we reach Kelor Island. Time again for sunbathing, snorkeling, photo shooting or just relaxing. Then we head to Pink Rock. The evening we spend infront of Kalong island which is located close to Rinca. It is the home of thousands of “Flying Foxes”. In the evening they come out of their nests and spread out into the sky looking for feed. Enjoy the evening with a home cooked dinner and chill out.
Day 2 Kalong – Rinca - Padar Island - Pink Long Beach - Komodo Bay
In the morning we arrive at the bay of Rinca. Our Komodo National Park ranger might be waiting for us already. A short path leads us to the headquarter of this semi arid island with its impressive Lontar Palms. We quickly do some administration things and then our Ranger introduces us to his island with the worlds`s unique Komodo Dragons. You get the option to do an easy one or two hours hike through the nature to see all the wild aninmals and of course also the dragons.
Afterwards we are going to explore the amazing Padar Island. Padar Island features a natural phenomenon that you should not miss: a pink beach. This peculiar beach gets its color from red coral fragments. It is definitely a great place to spend some time. We hike to the top of the hill but it is not really necessary. From the middle of the hills, we can already get that breathtaking panoramic photo of the nearby island nearby. The view is worth every sweat. One of the many highlights of our trip.
Back on the boat we cross the sea channel with its strong currents and arrive at Pink Long Beach. Here we have time for snorkeling or relaxing. The crystall clear water of the Komodo Sea and the coralls attracts colorfull fishes of all sizes. Sometimes you are among a big fish swarm. They are within your’s grasp.
Late afternoon anchor in the Komodo Bay. Again a great experience during this day!
The captain and his crew meanwhile starts to prepare our meal for the evening. Fish, chicken, noodles, rice and vegetable will be cooked in an indonesian style and served after sunset. In case our boat is equipped with a sound system we chill out on the boat, drink a beer and listen to the stories of the guide. Before we fall all asleep, we shouldn´t forget to watch the stars of the southern hemisphere and listen to the soft waves of the ocean. We wish you a nice dream!
Day 3 Komodo Bay – Komodo – Pink Beach - Manta Point – Kanawa - Labuan Bajo
Early in the morning we depart from the Komodo Bay to the harbour of Komodo. Breakfast will be served on the way. Jump off the boat and join the ranger on the one hour trek. If you are lucky you see all the dragons and dears hanging around the waterplace. On the way back just take a rest or visit the small local market where the Komodo people offers handycrafts. Back on the boat we continue our tour to Pink Beach and further on to Manta Point. If the sea conditions permit and there are Manta Rays around you can swim or snorkel with them. A wonderful experience which you never will forget if they are round. If you have an underwater camera let people take photos of you swimming beside the huge flat Mantarays. Early afternoon it is time to go back to Labuan Bajo. The pure travel time takes about three and a half hour. But be aware, if you think it was already all, you are totally wrong. Another highlight is waiting for you! We bring you to one of the best snorkeling spots the Komodo National Park has to offer! Enjoy the beautiful underwater garden infront of Kanawa. Around five o’clock in the late afternoon we reach Labuan Bajo harbour.
