Dragons and Fisher Villages

Itinerary

We pick you up from your hotel at 7.30 a.m. and we go directly to Labuan Bajo harbour from where we travel on a local boat to Rinca Island while enjoying all the tiny islands and fishermen villages along the way.

We arrive at Rinca Island Loh Buaya Bay around 10 a.m. and register at the rangers office of the Komodo National Park. A local ranger gives us a short introduction about Rinca Island before we trail on the small path to explore the Komodo Dragons and the wildlife of the island. We have the choice between an one or two hours trail. With some luck we get to see the dragons laying lazy under the trees. But we cannot always guarantee it. Dragons are wild animals and sometimes they are hiding or looking for feed in the impassable nature of the island.

After our exciting experience on the island we return to our boat and travel to the fisher village of Rinca. We make a short stroll in the village and we visit also the local school. In case the school is open and the teacher allows it, we can speak with the children and ask them about their school system. Afterwards we travel to Kukusan or another village in that area and do a short walk, too.

If it is still enough time, you take a bath in the crystall clear and warm water infront of the white sandy beach of Kelor.

We will be back around 5 o' clock in the afternoon.
