Spiderweb Rice Fields and Hobbit Cave
A one day private or public sightseeing tour to the Spiderweb rice fields, the hobbit cave and the traditional village Ruteng Pu'u close by the mountain town Ruteng. Your guide will show you the beauty of the Manggaraian Hill Country.

I T I N E R A R Y
1 day (apprx. 11 hours - pure driving time apprx. 7 hours)
In the morning at 7:30 am our Flores Komodo Expedition tour guide picks you up from your hotel in Labuan Bajo. We travel on winding steep roads through a beautiful scenery of mountains and valleys towards Ruteng.
At Cancar we explore the beautiful panorama of the spiderweb rice fields surrounded by green hills. On a small path that the villagers have made walkable by stairs, we climb the 100 meters high hill. From here we have a wonderful view over the green spider web rice fields. After we have signed the guestbook, we continue our journey to the mountain town Ruteng.
It is time for a lunch break. We visit one of the local restaurants and enjoy a delicious mangarraian meal. Fully strengthened we start our city tour.
Ruteng is characterized by monasteries, churches, innumerable schools, a large college for teacher education and numerious administration buildings. Finally, our tour guide will lead us to the Hobbit Cave, where archealogists recently have found a new species of our ancestors: the Hobbti. Before we travel back to Labuan Bajo we visit the traditional village "Ruteng Pu'u", which has become meanwhile more or less an open air museum. We arrive at Labuan Bajo apprx. at 6:30 pm.
